- Application and integration of Nogier and Bahr frequencies into assessment and treatment plans
About prerequisite: LLLT 1
LLLT 1 serves as a foundation for this course (see LLLT 1) to gain familiarity with clinical-grade low-level laser therapy equipment.
About prerequisite: Ear Point Guide
Description
The use of frequencies in photobiomodulation can support improved healing outcomes, and add precision to both your assessments and treatments in your non-laser applications (whether acupuncture, chiropractic, mental health, naturopathy, nutrition, physical therapy, pain management, etc), as well as your low-level laser therapy (LLLT) practice.
This course presents some key frequencies programmed into clinical-grade lasers used in Auricular Medicine: Nogier Frequencies A-G, and Bahr Frequencies 1-7. These frequencies will enable you to distinguish the active neural reflex points you are finding, by filtering layers and helping you target superficial (symptomatic) or deep (causal) issues — even hidden psychological issues or hidden dental blockages.
The training offers applications in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with discussion of Cardinal Points; supports integration across a variety of medical practices including demonstrations of orthopedic assessment and identification of hidden dental blockages; and is an ideal supplemental training companion course to the CIAM CORE program.

Muriel Agnes, PhD, MAEd
Dr. Muriel Agnes is the founder and former director of Vital Principle Institute (VPI), which was renamed to the Canadian Institute of Auricular Medicine (CIAM). Muriel began in this field by thoroughly studying other schools of auricular acupuncture, and her doctorate work with Dr. Norm Shealy, MD, focused on the assessment accuracy of Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS or Nogier Pulse) palpation. She trained closely with experienced physicians in Auricular Medicine, including: Dr. Beate Strittmatter (also featured in this course), and Dr. Peter Gross. Muriel authored the book, Auricular Medicine: A Window to the Brain.
Applied experiences from our students
My blood pressure has been high since childhood and difficult to control with medication, herbs or TCM acupuncture. [Using Auricular Medicine] I found my right knee (scar) to be the histamine focus in my own ear. I treated the knee point with Nogier A (scar/deep symptom), and Nogier C (musculoskeletal). My blood pressure has been well controlled since without treating any other symptom points.”

I had a high school student coming in for treatment due to a head injury. Over about 8 visits [of osteopathy and balance exercises] his migraines subsided, his balance became normal, and his sleep was good; but his moods were still bad... he almost felt like he didn’t want to live anymore. [Using] my laser now... I found the TMJ point resonated with Nogier F, so I treated it this way for another 6 visits, and discharged [him after he] stated he felt like himself again!”

What stood out for me [in this course] was that even breaking down a process into its different parts still won’t show us the whole picture... actually it prevents us from seeing the entire picture. I was always taught, if you broke things down into its different parts, it will help you see what is going on. Now knowing that is not actually true... makes me think more about how everything works together.
